Van Horn's landscape is dominated by Six Mile Mountain (three miles from town and back equals six!), which can be seen by motorists heading west for more than thirty miles. Van Horn's landscape is dominated by Six Mile Mountain (three miles from town and back equals six!), which can be seen by motorists heading west for more than thirty miles. This view was taken just north of the Town of Van Horn--the Crossroads of the Texas Mountain Trail--from Hwy 54 on the way to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park.
